Short version
Most tools process your PDF files inside your browser, and those files never leave your device. A tool that needs a server says so on its page before you choose a file; the section “Files sent to a server” below applies to it. Apart from that, the only files that leave your device are the ones you attach yourself to the feedback form.
Files you open in a tool
Unless a tool page says otherwise, the tool runs in your browser. When you choose a file, it is read into the memory of the page and processed there. It is not sent to a server, and it is not stored anywhere by us. When you close or reload the page, the file is gone from the page.
The result you download is produced in your browser as well. What you do with it afterwards is up to you.
Files sent to a server
Some tools may need a server for work a browser cannot do. Such a tool says so on its page before you choose a file. A file sent this way travels over an encrypted connection, is used only to produce your result, and is deleted from the server once the result is ready. It is not kept, not read by a person, and not used for anything else.
The feedback form
The feedback form is the one place where data does leave your device, and only when you press send. It sends:
- the message you wrote, plus your name and reply email address if you entered them,
- a PDF file and a screenshot, but only if you attached them yourself,
- which tool you were using and basic browser information, with the query string and the fragment of the page address removed.
We use Resend to deliver this as an email to the project mailbox. Resend processes the message to send it. The message stays in the mailbox until the owner deletes it. Do not attach a document that contains information you do not want to share by email.
If you do not press send, nothing is transmitted. A draft you leave open is kept in the memory of the page only, and it is cleared when you leave the page or after a period of inactivity.
Analytics
PDFbees uses Cloudflare Web Analytics on every page, for visitors everywhere. It sets no cookies, writes nothing to your device, and does not build a profile of you across sites. It records page views and basic technical information such as the referring page, the country, and the browser family. There is no advertising network and nothing that follows you across sites.
PDFbees also uses Plausible Analytics, hosted in the European Union. Like Cloudflare Web Analytics it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Besides page views it records one event when a tool finishes, with the name of the tool and the language of the page, so we can see which tools are used. It never sees your files, their names, or their contents.
Cookies and accounts
There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no advertising. The site sets no tracking cookies. Your language choice and similar small settings may be stored in your browser and never leave it.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare handles the connection and keeps its own server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and for operating the service. The feedback endpoint also counts recent requests per IP address in memory for a short time to limit abuse. That count is not stored and is not used for anything else.
Your rights
Because we do not create an account for you and do not store your documents, there is usually nothing for us to look up. If you sent feedback and want it deleted, write to the contact address and say which message it was.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
